The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, Honorable Catherine Atwakiire Ndamira has encouraged the youth to seize the opportunities presented by conferences in their respective churches to draw closer to God and seek repentance for their transgressions.

In her compelling address, Honorable Atwakiire emphasized that the youth find themselves under siege by malevolent forces, urging them to remain vigilant in their daily lives and embrace virtuous pursuits to overcome the allure of negative influences.

These words were conveyed through her Political Assistant, Mr. Alex Akampurila yesterday during the official inauguration of a youth conference held at Nyakigugwe Catholic Church.

The church stands as a sub-parish of St. Mary’s Bukinda Catholic Parish in Kabale Diocese in Kaharo Sub-County within Kabale District.

Honorable Atwakiire ardently communicated to the youth that by nurturing their connection with the divine and rekindling their faith, they will triumph over the forces of negativity. She challenged them to accord their parents’ wisdom the utmost regard, recognizing its potential to usher in blessings and cultivate their growth into responsible members of society.

In her discourse, she condemned the escalating trend of immodest attire among the youth, underscoring its potential to attract pernicious influences that could undermine their prospects.

A particular emphasis was placed on young boys, with a cautionary note against substance abuse most notably early and excessive alcohol consumption which, she cautioned, has the potential to devastate their future routes and curtail their lifespan.

Adding further substance to her words, the legislator exhibited her commitment by generously contributing 100 kilograms of rice to support the welfare of the attendees during the conference.

The conference is scheduled to unfold over three days, offering ample opportunity for reflection, learning, and growth.
