Kabale Diocese has donated two oxen and 400 kilograms of rice to inmates at Ndorwa Government Prison as a gesture of sharing and compassion during the easter season.
The donation was delivered by the parish priest of Christ the King Parish, Fr. Fred Birungi, who was accompanied by the diocesan head of laity, Tumukwasibwe Oddo Nicodemus, on behalf of the diocese.
Fr. Fred Birungi, who also serves as the Dean of Rushoroza Deanery, said the donation was made as a sign of unity and love for inmates who cannot celebrate easter with their families.
Tumukwasibwe Oddo, the Head of Laity, emphasized that inmates also deserve love, noting that anyone can find themselves in prison. He added that the donation gives hope to the inmates, helping them feel the joy of the season and reminding them that their faith remains with them, even behind bars.
He advised Christians to respect the law and adhere to community norms to avoid legal troubles.
