Residents of Nyaruharo Cell, Kyatoko Ward, Eastern Division, Rukungiri Municipality, now heave a sigh of relief after their source of water was improved by the Member of Parliament for Rukungiri Municipality, Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahirwa.
Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahirwa yesterday, 4th April 2025, commissioned a mechanized water spring to help provide clean drinking water for the residents in the area who have been facing a challenge of lacking clean water sources.
According to residents Annet Twebaze and David Tumwebaze, their old water spring was too old and could no longer provide them with water.
They added that they have been walking long distances looking for water and have been sharing water with animals at dams, posing a health threat to them.
They are therefore grateful to Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa for providing them with the water spring and pledged to support him in the forthcoming elections.
While commissioning the water spring, Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahirwa assured residents that he will keep working in their interest, having been given the mandate to serve.
He noted that he has the people’s interests at heart and will strive to bring more developmental projects to Rukungiri Municipality.
He hailed residents for giving a hand in the construction and asked them to take good care of the spring so that it can last for a long time.
