Police in Buhweju District are hunting for four unknown men dressed in army uniforms over allegations of aggravated robbery.
The suspects are accused of robbing two motorcycles, an unspecified amount of money, and mobile phones.
The incident occurred on April 17, 2025, at around 9:30 PM in Musaana Village, Rwengwe Sub-county, Buhweju District.
Marcial Tumusiime, the Greater Bushenyi Police spokesperson, confirmed the incident, saying it was reported on April 18, 2025, at 6:45 AM.
Tumusiime identified the victims as Jonan Saturday, 31, a timber businessman; Goodman Tukashaba, 20; and Aron Katagira, 45 — all residents of Nsiika LC1, Nsiika Town Council in Buhweju District.
It is alleged that on the night of April 17, 2025, at around 9:30 PM, the victims were traveling from Bwizibwera Town to Nsiika Town Council on two separate motorcycles.
Upon reaching Musaana Village, they were stopped by three men dressed in army uniforms and armed with a gun. The victims were tied to eucalyptus trees using ropes, and the suspects robbed them of two motorcycles with registration numbers UFR 384R and UFE 828K, their mobile phones, and an unspecified amount of money.
Jonan Saturday, one of the victims who reported the case to police, said it appeared to be a planned robbery, as the attackers organized it in an area surrounded by eucalyptus trees.
