Christians from North Kigezi Diocese, led by their Bishop Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asimwe, on Friday joined fellow Christians across the globe to commemorate the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and His death.

They started with the Walk of the Cross from Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasaano, moved around Rukungiri Town, and ended at All Saints Church Rukungiri, where they had a word of prayer led by the bishop.

It was a service of meditation at All Saints Church Rukungiri as Christians came together to commemorate the love of Jesus Christ through the cross on Good Friday.

During the service, Rt. Rev. Onesmus Asimwe told Christians to take Good Friday seriously and learn to walk in the footsteps of Jesus Christ.

He asked Christians to use this as an opportunity to renew their spiritual relationship with God and cautioned the faithful to shun evil. He condemned greed in the country, adding that Christians ought to treasure their lives and not compare them with worldly pleasures.

He highlighted that Christians should mind what they do with their bodies and also remember that their bodies are the temples of God, saying in this way they will glorify the name of the Lord, which is the relevance of Good Friday.
