Aaron Turahi, the LC5 chairperson of Isingiro District, is encouraging parents to consider enrolling their children in nearby and affordable schools as the opening of the first term approaches.

He emphasized the importance of not keeping children at home due to financial constraints and urged parents to explore options, particularly government-aided schools. Turahi, speaking to journalists at his office in Kabingo town council, Isingiro District, pointed out that many parents opt for expensive schools that they ultimately cannot afford, leading to school dropouts before completion of studies.

He advised parents to prioritize affordable education to ensure their children’s continued learning. Additionally, Turahi advised parents to be mindful of their spending during the holiday season, suggesting that they refrain from spending money on non-essential items and instead save for school fees.

Meanwhile, Rodoviko Byarugaba, the secretary for Education and Social Based Community Services in Isingiro District, echoed the call for parental responsibility during the holiday.

Byarugaba urged parents to discourage their children from engaging in irresponsible activities such as drug abuse, emphasizing the potential negative impact on their lives.
