In a concerning turn of events, Aryatwijuka Living, a 40-year-old church leader and respected figure in the Rubira village community of Kabale district, has gone missing under mysterious circumstances. The Kabale Police Station has initiated an investigation into the disappearance, marked under CRB 063/2024.
The incident reportedly occurred on January 15, 2024, with the exact time still unknown. According to Ninsiima Prudence, the wife of the missing man and a resident of Katookye village, Aryatwijuka left home around 10:00 AM on his motorcycle and failed to return. Concern heightened when his phone was found switched off later in the day.
Disturbingly, the search for Aryatwijuka took a perplexing turn when his motorcycle, along with church books and a receipt for church funds, were discovered abandoned along Kabale-Mbarara road. The ominous discovery raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his disappearance.
On January 16, 2024, at approximately 8:00 AM, Prudence was informed that Aryatwijuka’s motorcycle had been found in Lubira village along Mbarara road and was subsequently taken to the local chairman, LC 2, by two unidentified individuals.
Responding promptly to the unfolding situation, Deputy Superintendent Mukama Hakim mobilized a team comprising Homicide, Crime Intelligence, and local leaders to investigate the scene and conduct a thorough search for the missing church leader.
Police actions include the development of a disappearance casefile under SD reference 17/16/01/2024, now officially recognized as CRB 063/2024.
The crime scene has been visited and documented by a team of homicide detectives led by Detective/Corporal Mubangizi Soco. Relevant statements have been obtained, but as of now, Aryatwijuka remains unrecovered.
