The territorial police in Kabale have apprehended Caroline Tumukunde, an adult female, on suspicion of murdering a 50-year-old woman named Ndyaguma Edita.
Edita was a resident of Hamuganda village, Bukora parish, Kitumba sub-county, in Kabale district.
According to the reports, on the 15th of October 2023, around 09:00hrs, in Hamuganda village, Bukora parish, Kitumba sub-county, Kabale district, a confrontation took place between Caroline Tumukunde and the deceased.
Tumukunde, who works at a hotel owned by Katyaza adjacent to the deceased’s house, was confronted by Edita for cooking in front of her doorway. This dispute escalated into a physical altercation. During this altercation, Tumukunde allegedly struck Edita on the head with a piece of firewood, causing her to fall and subsequently leading to her immediate demise.
The police registered a murder case at Kabale Central Police Station, and the crime scene was visited and documented by the Kabale homicide team, led by Deputy Criminal Investigations Officer, Deputy Superintendent Mukama Hakim.
Subsequently, Tumukunde was arrested as a suspect to aid in ongoing investigations.
