Hon. Mary Paula, the Rukungiri District Woman MP aspirant (NRM), has assured residents of Rubabo Constituency of improved living standards if they entrust her with their vote in the 2026 general elections.

She made the remarks on Tuesday while soliciting for support in Nyarugando Parish, Nyakishenyi Sub-county, and later in Nyabushenyi Parish, Nyarushanje Sub-county. During her visits, Hon. Mary Paula noted with concern that some of the development projects she initiated—such as electricity distribution, water extension, and support to associations of youths, widows, Bamukaaka, and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)—had stalled.

She pledged to revive and fast-track these developments, emphasizing that they must be fully implemented at the district level.

Hon. Mary Paula also expressed concern over what she termed as the misleading of youths to vote based on age rather than development, urging them to focus on leaders with a proven development track record.

She further pledged to support youth talent development and to fight unemployment by promoting skills training that will enable young people to earn a living.

Twinamasiko Adson, a resident of Kaina Village in Nyarugando Parish, hailed Hon. Mary Paula for transforming the area, noting that they previously had no school until she constructed Marashaniro Primary School, which has since benefited thousands of Ugandans.

He added that Nyarugando Parish also lacked a health facility before Hon. Mary Paula facilitated the construction of Nyarubare Health Centre II, saying residents are now ready to fully support her.
