The government of Uganda through UPDF under the Ministry of Defence is to rehabilitate Makobore High School.
This was revealed by the North Kigezi diocese Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe in an interview with our reporter following preparations to start up the work.
He expressed his gratitude towards the offer of 1.4 billion from the government to rehabilitate Makobore High School and said that the offer was a positive indicator that the government is committed to improving the education sector in the country.
He added that the money will have to fulfill its intended activities without being channeled to different people.
Byarugaba Michael the Rukungiri district secretary for production and marketing and a PTA member at Makobore High School said that the construction will start soon.
He commended the Bishop North Kigezi diocese, teachers, parents, and well-wishers for the good work being done towards restoring Makobore’s name.
He added that most structures at Makobore are very old and so needed rehabilitation, and requested the government to continue sending more funding to rehabilitate and expand the school buildings as they hope to have more students since the school is now very okay.
