The Mbarara district patriotism Coordinator Mrs. Jolly Kabigumira has requested the government to allow local governments to start budgeting and facilitating patriotism activities in schools to build free corrupt and disciplined generations for a better Uganda.
Mrs. Kabigumira said this while addressing over one thousand patriots from four secondary schools which are: St Charles Lwanga Senior Secondary School, St Emmanuel Secondary School Kitengure, New High School Bukiro, and Bukiro Seed Secondary School at Bukiro Seed School in Bukiro town council Kashari South Mbarara district.
The over one thousand patriots completed one month of training
In response to the request to fund patriotism activities, the Chief Administrative Officer of Mbarara district Edward Kasagara said the proposal shall be presented to the district council so that it can be incorporated under an inspection grant.
Mrs. Kabigumira urged the government to take patriotism activities in schools for they inculcate values among the youth to love their country, love themselves, their schools, and their families.
Presiding over the function, the RDC Mbarara Turyabagyenyi Emmy Kateera urged the young generation to avoid being utilized by negative forces for their selfish interests.
Turyabagyenyi advised parents to prioritize feeding their young children nutritious foods such as beans and greens.
