KABALE– A total of four priests have officially retired from active priesthood in the Diocese of Kigezi.

The official retirement was announced on Sunday by the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, the Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna while presiding over the ordination of 15 Deacons, 4 Priests into Priesthood and Canonizing 3 as Canons at St Peter’s Cathedral Church- Rugarama in Kabale District.

The four are; the former Diocesan Secretary, Rev Canon Erasmus Turyatunga, Rev Christmas Winston Mufumu, Rev Christopher Henry Ndenga, and Rev Jotham Asiimwe.

They were recognized by the Diocesan Secretary, Rev Canon Milton Nkurunungi amidst chants and Cheers from thousands of Christians that graced the function.

They thanked God for his Mercy, provision, Prayers, good health, Protection, and goodness during their tenure as priests.

They promised to keep on serving God and keep the spirit of revival in the diocese.

The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna commended the retired priests for the services rendered to the ministry of God during their tenure in active priesthood.

Bishop Akanjuna handed each of them a parcel of imprest, for the services rendered assuring them of constant retirement benefits from the diocese.
