Police in Bushenyi District are investigating a case involving two former radio presenters accused of burglary.

The incident took place in Ishaka town, within the Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality, where former employees of Crane Radio allegedly attempted to break into a store belonging to prominent businessman Livingston Ahimbisibwe, also known as Kihimbi.

The two suspects, identified as Mary Komuhimbo Akiki, a former marketing manager and news anchor, and a woman identified only as Moreen, a former cashier, were reportedly caught trying to open the store using master keys. Their actions were captured on CCTV footage, which showed them repeatedly attempting to gain access to the store.

Ahimbisibwe revealed that he had initially suspected his workers of taking his property, only to discover the CCTV footage confirming the involvement of the two former employees. When apprehended, the suspects claimed they were chasing a rat from their rented room into the store.

The case was registered under SD REF. 09/04/08/2024.
