Evangelist Akimanzi Augustin from All Saints’ Chapel Lweza, in the Kampala Diocese, has urged youth to refrain from behaviors that may damage their relationship with God.

Speaking on Sunday after a youth conference held at Kitojo Church of Uganda in Nyabitete Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese, since Friday, September 13, 2024, Augustin expressed concern that many young people have drifted away from the church and fallen into harmful behaviors such as alcoholism and pre-marital sex, which he warned can weaken their connection with God. He encouraged congregants to protect their bodies from sin, reminding them that Christians’ bodies are the temple of God.

Rev. Nathan Muhumuza, a minister at St. John’s Kitojo Church of Uganda, shared that the conference was attended by Christians from Rugando Church of Uganda, Nyakiju Church of Uganda, and Kitojo Church of Uganda. He explained that the conference’s theme, based on Romans 12:1-3, called on Christians to offer their bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God.

Muhumuza added that church authorities are making every effort to engage youth in church activities by fostering revival among both young and old members. A group of youth participants expressed their gratitude to St. John’s Kitojo Church for organizing the conference, noting that the valuable teachings they received will help them grow as faithful Christians in the future.
