The North Kigezi diocesan Rt. Rev Onesimus Asiimwe on Tuesday confirmed 305 Christians in their faith at Ndago church of Uganda Rubirizi Archdeaconry in Nyarushanje sub-county Rukungiri district.
He was assisted by Ven Goffery Mutabazi the archdeacon of Rubirizi archdeconary and other clergy.
He kicked off his pastoral visit to Rubirizi Archdeaconry on Tuesday and he will be visiting all parishes under the Archdeaconry where he will confirm Christians and know the location of the parish as his first pastoral visit since his enthronement as the 6th bishop of North Kigezi diocese.
Bishop Onesimus Asiimwe asked Christians of Ndago church of Uganda to embrace the education of their children, and coffee growing in addition to asking men to involve themselves in church.
Rev. Joshua Behangana the Ndago church of Uganda parish priest thanked the bishop for choosing their church where he started his pastoral visit in Rubirizi Archdeaconry.
He added that as Ndago church of Uganda, they are looking forward to completing the construction of their church, adding in more efforts in coffee growing hence pledging to cooperate with Christians for the development of their church.
Naboth Namanya the Rubabo county legislator thanked the bishop for preaching and educating Christians on growing coffee which he says will help the government in kicking out poverty because it will increase their income in both church and families.
He urged Christians to use cash and food crops that generate income in fencing and decorating their compounds rather than using trees and other flowers which consume space for nothing.
He pledged to cooperate with the bishop in fostering coffee growth as long as he is still a Member of Parliament and in other areas like development in the education sector including the revamping church of Uganda schools especially Makobore high school among other schools.
