Kanungu district is stuck with PDM funds as beneficiaries complain of hectic paperwork beyond their knowledge.
This came in after people of Kanungu district raised their concerns about the delay in the release of the PDM funds yet it took much of their time in registering exercises.
Asked about that issue, Eng. Arinaitwe Sam Kajojo the Lc5 chairperson Kanungu district said that all the PDM funds are already on all Parish Sacco accounts but have not yet been released to beneficiaries’ accounts because of the complicated computer system which they are still working on.

He said that, according to the PDM implementation guidelines, Parish chiefs are the principal signatories to the bank accounts of all the groups in each parish and are also chief coordinators.

He also refuted allegations that he has been using PDM money for his benefits because he has no access to bank accounts. Kajojo also cautioned Parish chiefs who are extorting money from beneficiaries of PDM saying that registration is free of charge and no one is supposed to pay to benefit from the program.
