The Director of Public Prosecution, Lady Justice Jane Frances Abodo, cautioned against the presence of intermediaries in the vicinity of DPP offices, warning of their tendency to exploit individuals. Abodo made these remarks during the inauguration of the newly constructed regional DPP offices in Booma, Mbarara City.
Lady Justice Abodo urged State attorneys to utilize the newly established office to serve the public efficiently and administer justice effectively. She also commended the Mbarara City leadership for providing the land for the Judiciary’s use.
Furthermore, Abodo emphasized the importance of D.P.P Officers wearing their office tags for easy identification, aiming to prevent encounters with imposters within the office premises.
Representing Mbarara City Mayor Robert Mugabe Kakyebezi, Ronald Taremwa echoed these sentiments, cautioning D.P.P Officers against engaging with middlemen who undermine the course of justice through bribery.
