It was joy and happiness at Nyakitabata Church of Uganda in Bugangari Archdeaconry, North Kigezi Diocese, as Doreen Natukunda Nbyamusiima was officially installed as the lay leader of Nyakitabata Church of Uganda.
The installation service was held at Nyakitabata Church of Uganda, where Rev. Elasmus Barangirana, the Archdeacon of Bugangari Archdeaconry, called on Christians of Nyakitabata to cooperate with their newly installed lay leader so that they can foster development in both their church and homes.
He said Doreen was called by God to serve God’s people, and so she has to respect the call by bringing people closer to the church. He emphasized that God’s reward comes to those who serve faithfully, encouraging her to be a good shepherd and live by example.
In her remarks, Ninsima Charity, head of laity at Nyakitabata Church of Uganda, expressed gratitude to the Christians of Nyakitabata for the love and support they showed Doreen on her day of installation, saying that she deserved it because she is so developmental.
She praised her for the developments she has brought to the church, including the construction of a new church, a three-stance latrine, and finishing their quarters in time, among other church projects.
Nbyamusiima Moses, the husband of the newly installed Nyakitabata Church of Uganda lay leader, expressed happiness to Christians for the cooperation they showed, which has helped them move a mile as far as developing the church is concerned.
He thanked God who made this long-awaited day happen and hailed people from all corners who gave in their support and came to witness the function.
Doreen Natukunda Nbyamusiima, the newly installed lay leader, thanked God for the opportunity to serve and expressed deep gratitude to Rev. Elasmus for blessing her function.
She also thanked the Christians of Nyakitabata for their love and support during her hospitalization, where she was operated on while giving birth, and thanked God who brought her through this situation.
She called for joint efforts and cooperation from Christians so that they can grow their church to greater heights.
Doreen was posted at Nyakitabata Church of Uganda on 6th March 2022 and was installed on 21st April 2025 as the lay leader.
4.8 million UGX was collected at the function.
