Around 7,000 Christians, both local and from beyond the Diocese of Kigezi, are anticipated to gather for the three-day Diocesan Annual Brethren Conference, beginning tomorrow at Rugarama Hill in Kabale Municipality.
Rev. Canon Milton Nkurunungi, the Diocese of Kigezi’s Secretary, has revealed that this year’s conference theme is drawn from Romans 12:2, “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Mutashushanizibwa Nabobusingye obu). The conference, set to commence tomorrow, is slated to conclude on Sunday, January 14, 2024.
The Bishop of North West Ankole Diocese is the featured speaker for the conference, alongside other notable speakers such as Rev. Andrew Agaba, Rev. Canon Prof Medard Rugyendo, Ven Oscar Mwesigwa, Rev. Ambrose Kwesigwa, Rev. Edward Mwesigwa, Maama Anne Mbiste, and Rev. Canon Dr. Rebecca Margret Nyegenye.
Rev. Canon Nkurunungi affirms that the final preparations are underway for an engaging and vibrant conference. He expresses confidence that the diverse messages from the esteemed speakers will spiritually and morally enrich the attendees.
Reverend Benon Agaba, the diocesan planning and development officer, underscores the implementation of heightened security measures to maintain law and order throughout the conference. He also issues a caution to food vendors, stating that only those registered by the organizing committee will be allowed to operate within or around the convention site premises.
