The Very Reverend Canon Cranmer Mwesigwa, Dean of St. Mathew Cathedral in Kyamate, South Ankole Diocese, has issued a warning to parents and educators against engaging in idle gossip about the schools their children attend or where they teach. He emphasized that such talk could erode trust in the schools, potentially leading to their failure, which would ultimately be detrimental to everyone involved.

Addressing the audience during a ceremony to honor the top-performing Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) candidates from Kyamate Primary School, Canon Mwesigwa stressed the importance of trust between parents, teachers, and schools. He argued that when there is a lack of trust among stakeholders, it becomes challenging for students to excel academically.

Canon Mwesigwa urged teachers to utilize internal conflict resolution mechanisms, while encouraging parents to address any concerns through Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meetings rather than spreading rumors or discontent.

During the event, fifteen pupils who achieved Grade I were presented with mattresses and other gifts to support them as they transition to secondary school.

Joshua Kansiime, the Chairperson of the school’s management and President of the Ntungamo Municipality Development Forum, emphasized the importance of discipline among students. He advised them to steer clear of participating in strikes or demonstrations at their respective schools.
