Deputy Chancellor of North Kigezi Diocese, Counsel Isaac Atukunda, has urged Christians to refrain from engaging in violence during the upcoming campaign and election periods.
Speaking to Christians at Kigambo wa Ruhanga Nyakibale Catholic Centre, Counsel Isaac emphasized the importance of peaceful conduct as campaigns draw near. He specifically cautioned against riots and other violent acts, warning that such actions could result in loss of life, disability, and immense sorrow for families.
During the service, Counsel Isaac also demonstrated his support by donating 40 plastic chairs to Kigambo wa Ruhanga Nyakibale Catholic Centre, reaffirming his commitment to assisting the church in times of need. Additionally, he expressed his interest in running for the NRM seat in Rukungiri Municipality and called for the support of fellow Christians in this endeavor.
Fred Mucunguzi, the district councilor representing the Eastern Division of Rukungiri Municipality and the patron of Kigambo wa Ruhanga Nyakibale Catholic Centre, commended Counsel Isaac for his generosity. He highlighted the significance of the donation, particularly for a healing center like theirs where many visitors often face seating shortages.
Mucunguzi urged the public to recognize and appreciate Counsel Isaac’s altruism, especially as he prepares to contest for the NRM seat in Rukungiri Municipality. The recipients of the plastic chairs expressed their gratitude to Counsel Isaac, applauding his kind-heartedness and pledging their support to him in times of need.
