Christians have been urged to emulate St. Stephen, avoid envy, and embrace love for one another.

These remarks were made by Reverend Eldard Twikyirize, the Rukuru Parish Priest of St. James’ Karuhembe Church of Uganda, while celebrating the feast of St. Stephen. During his sermon, he encouraged Christians to embrace the spirit of thanksgiving, noting that a hand that gives is a hand that receives.

He further urged Christians to do good to their fellow human beings, assuring them that God blesses those who give generously. He reminded them that God has chosen each of them for a great purpose on earth, just as Stephen was chosen to represent Christ.

Rev. Eldard also encouraged Christians to remain firmly rooted in Christ and to be ready to face the challenges that come with salvation. He emphasized the importance of endurance, reminding believers that life after death is more important than life on earth. He urged Christians to be good examples to their families and to teach children the ways of God.

He further urged those in attendance to do good even to their enemies and to pray for them always, asking God to keep them alive and enable them to succeed in life. He encouraged Christians to always pray blessings upon themselves.

In his remarks, the Development Committee Chairperson, John Kwesiga, gave a vote of thanks to the Christians of St. James Karuhembe Church of Uganda for their wholehearted support towards church development projects, including the construction of the church and other initiatives.
