Bishop Nathan Ahimbisimbwe has urged Christians to fight poverty through hard work.

He made the remarks while preaching at St. Matthew Cathedral, Kyamate, in South Ankole Diocese, located in Ntungamo Municipality, where he encouraged Christians to focus on hard work within their families in order to get rid of poverty.

Bishop Nathan encouraged Christians to plant coffee on their farms, noting that coffee prices are steadily rising. He also emphasized the importance of saving in order to plan for better household incomes, saying that the Lord does not support laziness but blesses hardworking people who promote God’s work.

Rt. Rev. Nathan Ahimbisimbwe further highlighted some of the projects the Diocese plans to implement next year, including the construction of a two-storey building with 27 offices at a cost of 700 million shillings. He also mentioned plans to strengthen coffee projects in churches and install a wet mill machine at the Diocese to help farmers dry coffee faster and earn quick income after harvest. He added that the Diocese will continue preaching the Gospel to people in all corners through prayers, fellowships, and conferences.

Furthermore, the Bishop revealed that Christmas festivities bring families and friends together, enabling them to share ideas that build and strengthen one another. He preached the message of peace, noting that without peace, people cannot succeed in their endeavors. He urged parents and guardians to use the holiday season to spend quality time with their children, teach them economic activities, and encourage them to attend the upcoming youth conference scheduled for next year.
