Canon Makky officially retired from Kashenyi Secondary School in Ruhinda Sub County, Rukungiri District, after 37 years of service, organized the event to raise funds for the rehabilitation of his local Church of Uganda. A total of 11,185,800 UGX was raised, with Canon Makky pledging to cover the remaining balance.
Hon. Dr. Elisa Rutahigwa commended Canon Makky for rising from humble beginnings to become a leader. He urged heads of institutions to take responsibility for any decline in their organizations, which, he suggested, might stem from greed and the pursuit of material wealth.
