Of this amount, 262,218,477/= is expected from the Central government grant, while 50,971,500/= is projected from Local Revenue.
During the session, Ngabirano Justus, the Councilor representing Bwambara Parish and also serving as the Chairperson of the General Purpose Committee, proposed a motion to postpone the endorsement of the budget until the previous financial year’s budget priorities were addressed. However, the majority preferred to proceed with implementing all priorities simultaneously.
Ms. Katusiime Scovia, the Woman Councilor representing Kikarara Parish, expressed dissatisfaction, highlighting several roads that remain unrehabilitated from the previous financial year’s budget priorities due to a lack of equipment such as a grader. She advised seeking alternative avenues to ensure prompt service delivery.
Onesmus Rukundo, the Councilor representing Nyabubale Parish, raised concerns regarding the substandard rehabilitation work on Nyabubale road, which resulted in insufficient murrum coverage compared to the Bills of Quantities (BOQs). The Sub County Senior Assistant Secretary/Chief assured the council of conducting assessment inspections soon to ensure value for money.
Christopher Kagayano, the Chairperson of LC3 Bwambara Sub County, urged councilors to remain calm, citing the availability of funds in the account and readiness upon receiving the grader.
Among this year’s priorities are the Nyakatembe – Kahimbi road, the construction of a two-stance pit latrine at Karyamacumu P/S, and the access road to Ihimbo Hot Spring, among others.
