Residents of Bwambara Sub County in Rukungiri District are being urged to remain patient as the long-awaited Kateramo Water Project Scheme nears completion, promising to provide a lasting solution to the persistent water scarcity in the area.

The Kateramo water project, which is in its final phase of construction, was launched by the Rukungiri District Local Government following widespread concerns, particularly from residents of Kikongi Parish and neighboring areas, over the lack of access to clean water.

Speaking to Boona FM, Hon. Ntugura Gideon, the Bwambara Sub-County District Councillor and District Secretary for Finance, Planning, and Administration, reassured residents of progress being made on the project.

Hon. Gideon also noted efforts to extend water access through collaboration with the Umbrella Water Project Scheme, targeting parishes that remain underserved.

Beyond infrastructure, Hon. Gideon took the opportunity to encourage community development through education, urging parents to prioritize sending children to school while condemning the rise of gambling among youth.

As construction wraps up, the residents of Bwambara Sub County look forward to an improved and reliable water supply, as local leaders continue to seek partnerships for broader coverage.
