Police in Bushenyi District are hunting for unknown assailants who killed a businessman and his 14-year-old house helper.
The incident happened in Kyigombe village, Kyigombe Parish, Kyabugimbi sub-county, Bushenyi District when assailants attacked Namara Nathan 65 years, and his house boy Mugabe Ronald 14 years a native of Isingiro District.
It’s alleged that on 01/07/2023 at around 7:00 pm the deceased’s wife Debra Namara 63 a retired teacher received a call from one Turyahebwa to hire him 4 tents and 600 chairs for the party at Ryamasa village.
According to Rose Mugume 45, head teacher of Nyakabanga primary school Kyabugimbi sub county Bushenyi District who reported the case to police said Debora the deceased’s wife left her husband (deceased now) and the house boy (deceased ) in the house taking supper but never minded about closing the gate.
She said surprisingly on her return back home at around 9:00 hrs, she found the lights off, and when she entered using the phone light she found the husband and the house boy both dead in a pool of blood.
This forced her to make an alarm which attracted one Bosco who was immediately also called Rev Azaria Nimusima.
Martial Tumusiime the greater Bushenyi police spokesperson said police found the drawers of the wardrobe broken and a flat TV screen missing on the stand.
He said they tried to use a police watchdog but lost the track after a distance of about one kilometer suspecting that the assailants must have used a motorcycle or a vehicle to escape.
He said the two bodies were taken to Kampala International Teaching Hospital for postmortem.
