The Bushenyi District Public Accounts Committee has launched an investigation into the utilization of 2.8 billion UGX allocated for operational costs at Bushenyi Primary Teachers College.

Committee chairperson Hajj Mohammad Tibesigwa Kamadi stated that numerous irregularities have been uncovered regarding how the funds were spent.

The committee has accused the college principal, Aisha Nyangoma, and the bursar, Harriet Kuribakanya, of being the masterminds behind the financial mismanagement at the institution.

Kamadi noted that many activities carried out at the college were not properly accounted for, and the implementation of expenditures did not align with the approved budget.

Committee member Johnson Nagasha highlighted that the college, which has only 74 students, spent 242 million UGX on feeding within two months—an amount exceeding the allocated budget.

Additionally, Nyakabirizi Division Chairperson Nyansio Biryomisho pointed out that most suppliers were paid directly by the principal without following proper procurement procedures.
