Christians of Bugangari Archdeaconry under the North Kigezi Diocese, led by their Head of Laity, Elder Boaz Kwesiga Rutera, have on Saturday officially presented a vehicle valued at 30 million UGX to the Venerable Erasmus Barangirana, the current Archdeacon of St. Peter’s Bugangari Church of Uganda Parish.

This generous occasion took place at St. Peter’s Bugangari Church of Uganda, the Bugangari Archdeaconry Centre under the North Kigezi Diocese, where both Venerable Erasmus and his wife, Roydah Barangirana, joyfully received a new model Rav4 vehicle, registration number UBBB 647S. They received it with tears of joy, vowing to use it to spread the Gospel in alignment with their mission and vision for the Archdeaconry.

In his remarks during the handover, Mr. Rutera emphasized the importance of recognizing Ven. Erasmus’ contributions over the past eight months and explained that the generous gift was aimed at supporting his pastoral work throughout the Archdeaconry.

He highlighted the challenges church leaders often face in trying to do God’s work, noting that such difficulties inspired their support in purchasing transport means for them.

Elder Rutera also commended Ven. Erasmus for his efforts in promoting coffee growing as part of the North Kigezi Bishop’s call, and for fostering fellowship among Christians—initiatives that have significantly enhanced the parish’s spiritual growth.

He added that Ven. Erasmus’ dedication and morals toward the growth of the Archdeaconry inspired them to empower him to do even more. He further revealed that the Archdeaconry has so far purchased five vehicles for their church leaders and is continuing with the initiative to buy more.

He went on to appreciate the Christians, together with his wife Syria, for embracing the idea and contributing generously toward the purchase of more vehicles.

Meanwhile, the St. Peter’s Bugangari Church of Uganda Archdeacon, Ven. Erasmus, together with his wife, expressed deep gratitude for the gift, pledging to utilize the vehicle to further God’s ministry in Bugangari Archdeaconry. He urged Christians to cooperate with their church leaders, emphasizing that unity is essential for achieving development within their churches.

He hailed Elder Boaz Ruteera for initiating and mobilizing support for such a noble cause, thanking all Christians who embraced the idea. He also congratulated Elder Boaz Ruteera upon his promotion to another level of eldership in the North Kigezi Diocese.
