Bishop Emeritus Rt. Rev Dr. George Tibesigwa of Ankole diocese has passed on.

He was consecrated as the Bishop of Ankole Diocese on 2nd September 2007 by the then Archbishop of the church of Uganda His Grace The Most Reverend Henry Luke Oromb.

Described as the Academician and hymnist, Bishop Tibesigwa was replaced by the current bishop of Ankole diocese Rt. Rev. Sheldon Mwesigwa in 2010 after clocking retirement age.

Many have described him as the true servant of God, a teacher, singer, Academician, and kind man of God who served his people with dignity.

Bishop George Tibesigwa is also known for being the first Principle of Bishop Barham University College Kabale after its establishment in 2000.
