Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group, a community organization in southwestern Uganda, chaired by Hon. Peace Rugambwa, has expressed appreciation for the fulfillment of a pledge made by President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni. The group hailed the National Resistance Movement (NRM) chairman for providing essential supplies, including mattresses, coffee seedlings, and other items as promised.
Hon. Rugambwa shared these remarks while distributing items to members of Boona Bagaigahare Nyekundire Group in Ntungamo District, where the supplies included 200 mattresses and bed sheets. She noted that the distribution phase is underway, with similar deliveries already completed in the districts of Rukungiri and Ntungamo, and additional distributions planned for other districts soon.
Hon. Rugambwa acknowledged that although items designated for Rukungiri District had been delivered, beneficiaries there had yet to receive them due to misunderstandings among local leaders. She assured members that solutions are being pursued to ensure direct delivery to intended recipients. Dates for the distribution of the remaining items, including mattresses, bed sheets, blankets, and piglets, will be announced soon. Additional supplies such as coffee seedlings and hens are also expected to arrive shortly.
Leaders of Boona Bagaigahare, including Tibemanya Loy, Chairperson for Rukiga District; Busingye Manjeeri, Vice Chairperson for Ntungamo District; and Muhiima Albert, Treasurer, commended President Museveni for fulfilling his pledge. They urged group members to remain patient as they coordinate final distribution details, noting that some items are already stored at their offices in Rukiga District, ready for distribution.
Expressing their gratitude, community members such as Winfred Ntegyerize, 70, John Muhayirwa, 85, and Aidah Twinobusingye praised President Museveni for his ongoing support and Hon. Rugambwa’s efforts to address their needs. The elderly attendees, recognizing the challenges of their age, also appealed for additional support from the government to sustain their well-being.
Hon. Rugambwa and other leaders reaffirmed their commitment to mobilize full support for President Museveni in the upcoming presidential elections, acknowledging the impact of his support in improving the lives of local communities.
