Police in Sheema District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the strangulation and robbery of a 28-year-old man, whose body was discovered on January 4, 2024. The incident took place at Rushoroza 3 cell, Kitojo Ward, Sheema Central Division, Sheema Municipality.
The victim, identified as Azizi Mutebi, a 28-year-old bodaboda rider and resident of Rwanyinakihire cell, Rwamujojo Ward, Sheema Central Division, Sheema Municipality, was allegedly strangled to death, and his motorcycle, a red Bajaj Boxer with registration number UFY 707C, was stolen.
Reportedly, on the evening of January 4, 2024, at approximately 8:00 PM, Mutebi was at Ishaka stage in Kabwohe town, as stated by fellow bodaboda riders. However, he was not seen thereafter until his body was discovered on Friday in a farm at Rushoroza 3, Kitojo Ward, Sheema Central Division, Sheema Municipality.
Marcial Tumusiime, the spokesperson for Greater Bushenyi Police, confirmed that the body was found in a supine position, partially clothed. The deceased was then transported to Kabwohe Health Center IV mortuary, awaiting a post-mortem examination.
