KANUNGU
The bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi Bishop Dan Zoreka has today kicked off his diocesan confirmation tour at St Peter’s cathedral Nyakatare by confirming 65 Christians into the Anglican faith
Of the 65 confirmed Christians, 40 were females and 25 males drawn from schools including Kirima parents, Mother care primary school, and Nyakatare primary school
Bishop Zoreka urged Christians to be exemplary in their communities as this year’s confirmation is centered on hard work
He asked the people of Kanungu to prepare for the planting season to avoid the hardships of famine-
Zoreka also revealed that the diocese received a donation of 30000 seedlings of natural trees from businessman Dr James Garuga and called on schools and institutions to lead by example and plant at least five trees in their compounds to protect the environment that has been already been greatly degraded.
While delivering the day’s sermon, the diocesan secretary Rev canon Kenneth Kanyankole told the newly confirmed Christians that they have been commissioned to go and serve the Lord, therefore, they should help the needy, pray for the sick, and elderly among other people who need comfort.
He urged them to keep rooted in faith as Christians .
