The Right Reverend Dan Zoreka, Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, has urged diocesan employees to wholeheartedly embrace their assignments during a retreat at Holy Cross Guest House Nyakatare in Kanungu district. The retreat aimed to welcome the diocesan staff back from the Christmas Holiday break, prompting Bishop Zoreka to emphasize the importance of renewing perspectives and plans for the new year.

The theme of the retreat, “Conforming to the truth of God’s word, not the patterns of the world,” was derived from Romans 12:1-2. Ven. Can. Benard Byamugisha, the archdeacon for Kayonza Archdeaconary, provided insight into the theme during the devotion, emphasizing its relevance for every Christian. He stressed that a Christian’s character and behavior should reflect the goodness of God, calling on the Diocesan Staff at the secretariat, Diocesan Projects like the Batwa Development Program, and the Community Development Project to carry out their roles diligently in 2024.

Canon Ben Kurigamba, the Diocesan Head of Laity, also attended the retreat, encouraging the Diocesan staff to uphold the positive image of the church in all their endeavors. Reverend Gad Tibeijuka Ngyemura, the Diocesan secretary of the Diocese of Kinkiizi, emphasized the importance of unity and cooperation among the staff to achieve more as a team. He urged everyone to remain focused on the goals of the Diocese of Kinkiizi.

In December 2023, Bishop Zoreka implemented clergy transfers within the Diocese, with the newly appointed clergy expected to assume their new positions by the end of the week. Among them, Rev. Caleb Turyabagyeyi Bitindi was promoted to the position of Archdeacon and assigned to Rutenga Archdeaconary.
