The Bishop of Kabale Diocese, Rt. Rev. Callist Rubaramira, has called on Christians across the diocese to use the festive season as a time for self-reflection, repentance, and spiritual renewal.
In his Christmas message, Bishop Rubaramira highlighted that Christmas is a period for Christians to celebrate and give thanks for the love God has bestowed upon them. Quoting 1 John 4:9, which speaks of God’s love demonstrated through the sending of His Son so humanity may have life through Him, the Bishop emphasized that God’s love is unique, everlasting, a precious gift, and an inspiration to love others.
He urged Christians to open their hearts to God during the festive season, repent of their sins, and practice forgiveness towards one another.
Bishop Rubaramira also encouraged Christians to embrace love for one another, show mercy, and uphold good morals.
Christmas, celebrated annually on December 25, marks the birth of Jesus Christ and is observed as both a religious and cultural event by billions worldwide.
