Kabale Diocese has made history by installing Bishop Callist Rubaramira as the first Chancellor of St. Ignatius University, following its inauguration.
The university, established by the Catholic Church under Kabale Diocese, officially opened its doors earlier this year and celebrated its inauguration at a ceremony held on the university grounds in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality, Kabale District.
The event was graced by the Minister of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, who represented Uganda’s Vice President, Maj. (Rtd) Jesca Alupo.
In a message read on her behalf, Maj. Alupo reaffirmed the government’s commitment to supporting higher education institutions as a vital component of national development. She encouraged St. Ignatius University to prioritize innovation and societal needs, urging the institution to seize opportunities that would benefit both the university and its stakeholders.
During the same ceremony, Associate Professor Fr. Maximilliano Ngabirano was formally installed as the Vice Chancellor of St. Ignatius University.
