The Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese, Rt Rev Onesimus Asiimwe, along with other diocesan staff, on Sunday welcomed a team of nine people from the Armidale Diocese in Australia. The team was led by Bishop Rodney Chiswell, the Bishop of Armidale Diocese.
During their visit to North Kigezi Diocese, the team will facilitate a Clergy Conference with their spouses, which commenced today, 8th July 2024, and will last for five days.
In his remarks, Bishop Onesimus thanked the Diocese of Armidale for their partnership in ministry with North Kigezi Diocese. He highlighted programs such as the Next Generation Conference, which have been initiated and funded by Armidale Diocese.
Bishop Onesimus also paid tribute to the former bishops of North Kigezi Diocese who initiated this partnership with Armidale Diocese. He emphasized the importance of remembering and building upon the foundations laid by previous leaders, particularly in terms of partnering with other dioceses for development.
The conference will take place at Emmanuel Cathedral Kinyasano Consecration Site.
