The Right Reverend Godfrey Mbitse, Bishop of Muhabura Diocese, has strongly denounced the growing prevalence of corruption, especially among civil servants.
Bishop Mbitse unequivocally defined corruption as bribery, underscoring the unfortunate reality that many Ugandans cannot access essential services from certain offices without resorting to bribery. Speaking to the media on his first anniversary as the third Bishop of the Muhabura Diocese, Bishop Mbitse urged Ugandans to reject corruption, stressing that it contradicts the principles of righteousness and does not lead to heavenly grace.
Consecrated on April 2, 2023, by the Most Reverend Dr. Stephen Samuel Kazimba Mugalu, Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, at St. Andrews Cathedral Seseme in Kisoro district, Bishop Mbitse continues to advocate for integrity and moral values in society.
