The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has urged students to use their remaining time in school productively as they prepare for their forthcoming national exams.
The Bishop made the call during a special dedication ceremony for Senior Four and Senior Six candidates of Kigezi High School, as well as Primary Seven students from Kigezi High School Primary, Kabale Preparatory School, and Kijuguta Primary School. The event was held at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Rugarama. The service also saw the confirmation of 124 Kigezi High School students into the Christian faith.
Bishop Akanjuna emphasized that students have a unique opportunity to be in school and should use this time to shape a better future. “You have an opportunity to be in school, so use it as an advantage to change your background,” he said.
In his sermon, Rev. Daniel Byamukama, Kigezi diocesan missions coordinator, encouraged students to approach exams with confidence and courage. Preaching from Psalms 27, he asked candidates to emulate King David’s trust in the Lord, assuring them that those who place their trust in God will not be put to shame.
Senior Four candidates are set to begin their final exams on 10th October 2025, while Senior Six students will commence their exams on 7th November 2025.
