Christians and students of Makerere University yesterday filled St Francis chapel Makerere to bid farewell to their former chaplain  Rev Onesmus Asiimwe as he Prepares to be Consecrated and Enthroned this week as the 6th Bishop of North-Kigezi Diocese in Rukungiri district on Sunday 12th March 2023.

Members of St. Francis chapel Makerere described their chaplain as a   friendly, hard-working, and developmental person for the time he has been serving them as their Chaplain.
Rev Asiimwe was appointed chaplain of Francis Chapel Makerere in 2018 and he served up to when he was appointed 6th bishop of North Kigezi diocese by the House of Bishops on 18th January at Lweza Conference center Mukono.

Prof. Henry Alinaitwe, the deputy vice-chancellor Makerere university In-charge of Finance & Administration on behalf of the university thanked Rev Onesmus Asiimwe for the great work he did for the chapel which included spiritual guidance.
Prof . Alinaitwe revealed that by the time of his appointment as the bishop of North Kigezi diocese, the university council had renewed Rev. Asiimwe’s contract as the chaplain of st Francis chapel Makerere  

He wished him the best on behalf of Makerere university as he takes up the new mantle as a Bishop of North Kigezi Diocese  

Rev Onesmus Asiimwe in his remarks thanked the St Francis chapel Makerere family and the entire Makerere university for their cooperation.

He told the Christians who attended his farewell service that  Other things can be taken away but above all they should fix their eyes on Jesus alone for he never fails and his glory brings a new experience in their lives.

Florence Asiimwe the wife to the bishop-elect thanked everyone at Makerere university for their support for the five years they have been serving.
