The territorial police of Rukiga are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 60-year-old Michael Kyarugahi a resident of Rushebeya cell Rwamucucu sub county Rukiga district, whose body was discovered without some body parts.
According to Elly Maate the Kigezi region Police spokesman who quoted the wife of the deceased identified as Katushabe Gorret, the deceased left home on 2/3/ 2023 and headed to Rushebeya trading center to socialize but he never returned home
Katushabe reported her husband’s disappearance the 3/3/2023 to the area local council chairperson Rushebeya cell one Aggrey Bakahya, who mobilized the community members and they conducted a search but in vain.
Residents resumed their search this morning and found the deceased’s body floating in a swamp, just a few meters from Rushebeya trading center.
They notified the police, which visited the scene and processed it, the body was retrieved without the head and right arm which are still missing.
The body was taken to Kabale referral hospital mortuary for postmortem as inquiries continue to establish the identities of the perpetrators and for which motive the body parts were cut.
