The Bishop of the Diocese of Kinkiizi has called upon young people to live pure lives.

He was on Monday leading confirmation service at Great lakes Regional University Anglican Chapel.

28 students were confirmed into the anglican faith, n a colorful service, which attracted a congregation of hundreds of believers.

In his remarks, Bishop Zoreka categorically said that his visit to the Great Lakes Regional University is not a sign of taking over the university but to just offer services to the Christian community at the campus.

He further said that the Archbishop of the province of the Church of Uganda was happy to have an opportunity to visit the same university during his recent pastoral visit when he planted a memorial tree and launched the Go-Green campaign at the university.    

The Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Dorothy Kabugo thanked Bishop Zoreka for honoring the invitation to do ministry at the Great Lakes Regional University by officially appointing Rev. Caleb Bitindi Turyabagyenyi, who is doing tremendous work among the students and administration at large.

The VC praised Rev. Bitindi for the zealous services he offers in partnership with other chaplains from other denominations such as the Roman Catholic Church, Pentecostal, as well as Muslim clerics.

During the service, the Sub dean of St. Peter’s Cathedral, The Very Rev. James Kabagambe, the Vicar Rev. Glorious Kyomugasho, Rev. Stellah Arineitwe the Diocesan Education Coordinator were present

Also, Rev. Bob Mbabazi Ntegyereize who serves as the Diocesan Information Communications Technology Officer as well as Diocesan Youth and Children’s Coordinator who doubles as a Lecturer of ICT at Great lakes regional University was present.

The Guild president, Mr. Ampumuza Jonathan praised the current University administration of the University and the entire CHIFCOD leadership for the transformational governance they have exhibited as led by Mr. Honest Wilkins ED-CHIFCOD and Mrs. Eleona Nyamishana ED-FINANCE CHIFCOD who have peacefully provided a conducive environment for the students to pursue their studies.
