The Rt Rev. Callist Rubaramira, Bishop of Kabale Diocese,on Friday officially confirmed 331 individuals into the Catholic faith at a mass held at St. Peter’s Gisoro Catholic Parish in Kisoro Municipality.

In his homily, Bishop Rubaramira emphasized the crucial role parents play in shaping the spiritual development of their children. He urged parents to impart the virtues and norms of the Catholic Church, highlighting the importance of a peaceful family as the foundation of the church. The bishop stressed that a strong and thriving church requires unwavering faith among its members.

The parish priest, Rev Fr Mbabazi Arifonsi of St. Peter’s Gisoro Catholic Parish, underscored the significance of confirmation in instilling the values of the church in Christians. Referring to the newly confirmed individuals as warriors of Jesus Christ, Rev Fr Mbabazi encouraged Christians to anchor their lives in a steadfast relationship with Jesus.

Expressing concern about the misconception that the church is only for the elderly, Rev Fr Mbabazi dispelled this notion, emphasizing that the church is inclusive and relevant to people of all ages.
