Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, has urged Christians to turn away from sinful behavior and embrace faith in God as the path to eternal life.

Addressing a congregation during a confirmation service for 105 Christians at St. John Kandago Church of Uganda Parish in Bukinda Sub-County, Rukiga District, Bishop Akanjuna stressed the importance of living in accordance with Christian principles. He encouraged the newly confirmed Christians and the congregation to resist worldly temptations and strive for righteousness.

The Bishop advised Christians to find contentment in what they have and to build a strong moral foundation that aligns with their faith.

In a related message, Bishop Akanjuna expressed concern about the declining number of boys participating in schools and churches compared to girls. Describing the trend as alarming, he called on the government to implement strategies to keep boys engaged in education and religious activities.

Additionally, Bishop Akanjuna urged parents to dedicate time to their children by providing moral and spiritual guidance and fostering homes rooted in love and respect.

Christians from various parts of the district attended the service, many of whom praised the Bishop’s emphasis on moral guidance and the prioritization of family values.
