A 62-year-old resident of Rwentaka village Kisiizi Parish, Nyarushanje, Subcounty, Rubabo County, Rukungiri district is on the run for hacking his 80-year-old biological mother to death.
Kibariroha James a retired Primary School teacher and resident of the same address and others still at large is reported to have killed Karabaye Federesi 80, of the same area.
SP Musa Tibakirana the Rukungiri District Police commander explains that Kibariroha has been embroiled in a long-standing disagreement with his mother over the will that was left behind by his late father and husband to the deceased who passed on 7yrs ago.
The suspect on several occasions tried to force his mother to change the will which she refused to do which prompted him to start threatening her.
Tibakirana explains that on 2/6/22 at around 8:00 PM the suspect and three other individuals who have not yet been identified surrounded and entered the home of the deceased who in a few minutes was heard making an alarm. They severely cut her on the head killing her on the spot.
Tibakirana says the scene of the crime was visited and documented by the District CID Officer, a team of detectives, and other personnel
The body of the deceased was conveyed to Rwakabengo Health Center 111 pending postmortem.
A case file RUK CRB 471/22 has been opened at Rukungiri Central Police station and a manhunt for the suspect and his accomplices has been launched. #crime #homicide #rukungiri #westernuganda
