St. Joseph Nyamirama Catholic Parish on Tuesday celebrated Mary’s Day with a mass wedding of 45 couples.

Presiding over the mass wedding, the Nyamirama Catholic Church Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Aloysius Tamale appealed to the newly weeded couples to trust in Mother Mary who also went through marriage life and tested the challenges but overcame them.

He added that being wedded on Mary’s Day is a blessing that they should not take lightly.

Fr. Tamale reminded parents and relatives to respect the fact that marriage is between two people and thus should not interfere but rather offer advice.

He also reminded the newlyweds that they have not married angels but should always forgive one another when they meet challenges.

He called upon men to reduce alcoholism saying this has cost many families.

Speaking to our reporter on the sidelines of the mass wedding, the mayor of Nyamirama town council, Bhaigwa Ravjeli Kahororo lauded the church saying such a wedding will help in reducing cases of domestic violence in families around Nyamirama.
