A 40-year-old man is on the run in Rukungiri district after he allegedly hacked his 70 year old biological father to death.
Elly Maate the Kigezi region police spokesman has identified the suspect as Andrew Basheija who used a sharp machete to hack his father Stephen Tumusiime in the head
The suspect are both residents of Kyitaziguruka village Kanyinya ward Rukungiri municipality / district.
It’s alleged that the deceased has always advised the son to stop abusing alcohol, because he would be a problem to the entire family after drinking
Maate explains that whenever would be advised, the suspect would harass the father with threats to kill him.
Today the 02/07/2022 at around 1100hrs, he was targeted when his father had remained with 02 young grandchildren who would not provide any assistance and severely hacked him in the head spilling his brains.
The suspects confronted the father over a bunch of matoke cut from his banana plantation’

He was rushed to Nyakibale hospital where he died moments later.
Maate says the incident was reported at Cps Rukungiri, the scene of the crime was visited and documented by the DCID/O and team,
pending postmortem examination.
Maate called on members of the public to assist Police with information on the whereabouts of the suspect so that he is brought to book to answer to charges
