A total of 3,354 candidates have today begun their Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) in Kabale District. The distribution of examination materials commenced at 7:00 a.m. at Kabale Central Police Station for Kabale District Main, and at 7:52 a.m. for Kabale Municipality.

Among the candidates are seven inmates from Ndorwa Government Prison, who are sitting their exams at Kikungiri Primary School, and two candidates with disabilitiesone sitting at Hornby High School Junior and another at Lower Bugongi Primary School.

According to Kabale District Education Officer, Mr. Moses Tumwijukye Bwengye, the examinations are taking place at 97 sitting centers across the district. He expressed confidence that the ongoing rainy weather will not affect the exercise since all examination materials were properly packaged and secured.

Mr. Felix Aruho, the Kabale District Distribution Monitor, urged invigilators and field officers to strictly adhere to the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) rules and regulations to ensure a smooth examination process.

Meanwhile, Kigezi Regional Police Spokesperson, ASP Elly Maate, assured the public of tight security, both overt and covert, throughout the examination period. He cautioned invigilators, teachers, and candidates against engaging in any form of examination malpractice.

Candidates began with Mathematics in the morning and are sitting for Social Studies in the afternoon. The exams will continue on Tuesday with Integrated Science in the morning and conclude with English in the evening.
