The Kabale Deputy Resident District Commissioner, Ronald Bakak yesterday ordered the arrest of the Kabale central market vendors Association Joshua Mutekanga and the other two over corruption in tha allocation and occupation of stalls and lock up in Kabale Central market.

The development follows the formation of an investigation committee by the Minister of Local government Hon. Raphael Magyezi headed by the RDC, DISO, and an Official from the Ministry of Local government to carry out an investigation within ten days and report back to him on how the registration and allocation of stalls and lock-ups process was conducted

Minister Magyezi tasked the committee to also carry out verification on whoever got a stall and lock up, by capturing the memorandum of understanding, National Identity card, and checking the first register.

DRDC Bakak says that due to the overwhelming complaints received by his office evidenced by religious leaders, he ordered the arrest and investigation of Mutekanga, Benon Nfitumukyiza the Kabale Municipality principal town agent and the central market master, and Federis Akankwasa the Kabale municipality commercial officer. He confided to our reporter that his office has overwhelming evidence to pin the three suspects.

He revealed that the three connived and started getting illegal money from vendors ranging between 10 to 15 million shillings according to the evidence that has been gathered by their offices.
