KISORO-The Kisoro Resident district commissioner, Hajji Shafique Ssekandi on Sunday handed over completed government projects worth over 286 million shillings to beneficiary citizens in Kisoro district.
Among these projects include Muyove gravity water flow scheme in Nkuringo town council worth over 204.5 million shillings, the vation of Gatare gravity water flow scheme in Nyarubuye sub county worth 57 million shillings and Busanza secondary school irrigation Demo scheme in Busanza sub county worth 25 million shillings.
The RDC was in the company of the district chief administrative officer Hajji Badru Mayanja, LCV Chairman represented by Agaba James, District engineer, district water officer, and area councilors.
While addressing beneficiary residents of the Muyove gravity water scheme at Mwumba primary school in Mugombwa village, Nkuringo town council, RDC Ssekandi said that the president is implementing his 2021-26 manifesto of bringing services near to citizens.
The Kisoro district Water Engineer, Cranmer Mbebwa said that Gatare gravity water scheme has a 40,000 liters capacity reservoir tank located in Kirwa village. It has 11 tap stands in seven villages of Kibande, Kinyababa, Gatete, Gapfurizo among others.
He added that in Mugobwa village has a 30,000 liters capacity and is located at Mwumba primary school. It has 32 public tap stands. He asked residents of Mugobwa village to protect the scheme and start saving some money for maintaining it.
The Kisoro district Chief administrative officer, Hajji Badru Mayanja asked residents to thank the government for extending tap water to Hilly and hard-to-reach areas which will reduce on time wasted by women and children fetching water.
